Environmental and Health Protection Inspector (Substitute)

The Environmental and Health Protection Administration is a supervisory authority within the municipal group. We play an important role in the municipality's delivery of welfare services and continued development. Our activities include supervision and advice as well as development in environmental and health protection and food safety. We have about 30 employees organized into three units, and our experience is that we are proud of our pleasant workplace. In both big and small ways, we work according to the municipality's overarching vision that Varberg should be the creative hub of the west coast.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Today, we are 19 employees at the Environmental and Health Protection Administration working with supervision according to the Environmental Code. We are now looking for a substitute for the team as one of our employees will be on parental leave. The position as an environmental and health protection inspector will involve various areas within the supervision of the Environmental Code.

For this position, we aim to optimize the content of the tasks for the supervision of the Environmental Code based on interest, competence, and the needs of the administration. The work also involves informing and advising based on legislation, guiding and supporting businesses/operators. We collectively make an annual distribution in connection with supervision planning where we try to create an attractive variation in tasks and optimize the different aspects where the administration's common needs take precedence. Tasks related to food supervision may occur as needed and based on competence.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education in environmental and health protection or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Experience of having previously worked as an environmental and health protection inspector is an advantage.

For the position, in-depth knowledge and experience of authority work in the areas are advantageous. Good computer skills are also seen as a benefit. We work with the case management system Ecos. Since work at an authority places special demands, your personal qualities are highly valued. You should also be interested in working in a team and therefore be service-oriented and put the group before yourself. However, job satisfaction, flexibility, and a good sense of humor are equally important.
